Dental cleanings are often considered a patient’s introduction to the dentist. We like to view it as our way of saying hello to our first-time patients. It is also the best way to ensure our patients’ teeth stay clean and their oral health remains pristine.
At Magnolia Dental, we understand the importance of dental cleanings and being consistent with keeping teeth clean. Patients who abide by the specific guidelines of protecting their teeth are more likely to have clean and healthy teeth for their lifetime. These guidelines include brushing twice daily, flossing daily, rinsing with mouthwash daily, and visiting the dentist every six months for their dental cleaning.
The most common problem encountered with teeth that require an invasive dental procedure is cavities. Cavities take place when a tooth, or teeth, has too much plaque built up over time, has chipped and not been properly covered, or has an area that cannot be easily reached and cared for by the patient. Cavities are easily taken care of by the use of dental fillings, which is a strong substance made out of silver, porcelain, or the most common, composite resin. Dental fillings are an extremely important part of dentistry because it enables the patient to continue using their original tooth or teeth and not require extensive dental surgery.
At Magnolia Dental we are able to easily assess the health of our patient’s teeth through dental cleanings and oral check-ups. During these sessions, we can pinpoint trouble spots that may require dental fillings.
At Magnolia Dental, we are all doing whatever we can to preserve the original teeth of our patients. Quite often, this requires the use of dental crowns, also known as dental caps. It is our goal to ensure every patient keeps their teeth as healthy as possible; but sometimes teeth require a dental crown procedure to maintain a patient’s oral health.
For our Magnolia, Texas area dental patients, they have come to trust our thorough evaluations during their teeth cleanings, dental emergencies, or oral check-ups. If we see that a dental crown is necessary, then we inform our patient. Of course, if there is another alternative, like a dental filling, then we jump at the opportunity to preserve more of the original tooth.
Pediatric Dentistry
The road to a healthy mouth starts early. At Magnolia Dental, we believe that every child should start having their teeth cared for by an experienced dentist as soon as possible. Our Magnolia, Texas dental office focuses heavily on pediatric dentistry and making every child’s visit to the dentist an enjoyable one.
It is very important that a person begin their experience with a kid's dentist at an early age. This early beginning promotes a healthy oral lifestyle of personal home care, as well as being consistent on annual check-ups and dental cleanings at the dentist office.
Oral Surgery
Oral surgery sounds like a scary situation, but with the major advancements made in dental technology, a majority of these procedures have become quite simplified and painless. Our goal at Magnolia Dental is to ensure every one of our patients feels at home when they visit our office, regardless of the reason they’ve booked the appointment.
The reasons for oral surgery vary greatly. It can be due to injury to the teeth, poor hygiene that leads to extreme tooth decay, bad genetics that cause problems for patients regarding functionality or appearance, or due to time and stress that has caused damage to a patient’s teeth. Whatever the reason, our dentists are able to assess and address any problem a patient may encounter.
Dental Implants
Missing teeth. This is not a rare occurrence. In fact, more than 30 million Americans are missing all of their teeth in one or both jaws, according to the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID). That number increases dramatically for Americans who are missing at least one tooth. What’s the solution for a missing tooth? A dental implant.
At Magnolia Dental, we specialize in making certain all of our dental patients have beautiful and healthy smiles. For many of our patients, this starts with a dental implant.
